Adventure Residential Centre

Ty Carreg

if it’s a rainy day, our sports hall offers you a range of games to play - football, netball, kwick cricket, group games or team building activities can all take place in here.

Our small games room is fully heated using over-head halogen heaters, and offers a great space to lounge around and play pool, table football or have a quiet game of darts. With it’s bar type seating, it’s great for relaxing in with a drink or a snack.

Ty Carreg’s orchard stretches across two acres and offers plenty of space to run around and let off steam, or maybe do some environmental studies, observe the wildlife around Ty Carreg or get messy and muddy within the small brook that passes through our lower orchard. There’s plenty to do by day, and by night the unpolluted skies offers great views for an astronomy evening. We even have a fire pit, so why not bring some firewood and toast some marshmallows.

If you want to take part in some activities that are a little more adventurous then take advantage of one of the many activity providers around the centre. We’ve listed just a few of them below, with many offering climbing, scrambling, pony trecking, or kayaking and canoeing down the River Wye just a few miles away.

Wye Valley Canoes sits on the bank of the River Wye as the bridge crosses it at Glasbury. They offer canoe and kayak hire for journeys down the river to Hay-on-Wye (5 miles) or Whitney-on-Wye (10miles) for individuals, families or groups.

Black Mountain Activities are further up-river from Glasbury and offer water and landbased activities from their centre. They have a high-ropes course and also offer white water rafting.

There is lots to do both on site at Ty Carreg, or just a short walk or drive from the centre. Why not utilise the sports hall, orchard or lounge area to host your activities!

There are plenty of things to do on site, such as BBQing on the patio, or maybe even star-gazing in the orchard. Using the tyre swing at the top of the orchard to pass a few hours, and
